Flame Shield – ModWood and KlevaKlip

Flame Shield® is a specially formulated ModWood® board with a dispersed fire retardant. Until recently decking board options for bushfire prone areas were limited; however this has all changed. Flame Shield is Global GreenTag Bronze Star rated and is tested and certified to AS1530.8.1-2007. It is used in BAL-12.5, BAL-19, BAL-29 and BAL-40 (AS3959- 2009) areas and gives you a traditional timber deck look and feel. ModWood is made from recycled wood waste and plastic milk bottles (HDPE). Our products are wood composites; you do not need to paint, stain or oil. Flame Shield comes in a range of colours and requires none of the maintenance of traditional woods: it will acquire the natural feel and look of weathered timber and may be installed over selective timbers or steel with an enclosed or unenclosed subfloor. Flame Shield is resistant to termites, free of splinters and offers long-lasting and cost-effective alternatives in residential and commercial applications.
