Newsletter

Dec 2017

Dear

Welcome to the last BMEE newsletter for 2017.

Firstly, I would like to welcome Mr Wayne Moloney as a newly appointed director to the BMEE Board.  A Blue Mountains resident with extensive business and consulting experience, Wayne will add further expertise to ensure the strategic direction of BMEE is set to achieve the best outcomes for the community.

On behalf of the Board, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to Mr Dave Garner who has served on the Board of BMEE since its establishment in 2012. Dave has been involved in the Blue Mountains business community for many years, including as a board member of Biznet and as a musician, and has brought an understanding of the creative community that has helped develop the strategy of BMEE.

Expressions of Interest to establish a co-working facility in Katoomba closed on 30th November and Blue Mountains City Council will now assess those submissions.  We look forward to supporting the successful operators of this exciting, creative space and are compiling lists of potential tenants.

We have recently held information meetings for local businesses with Jobs for NSW and the NSW Department of Industry. These have proven beneficial to those who took part and inspirational for me as we identified a number of successful local businesses who are poised for significant growth.

The BMEE office will be closed from Friday 22nd December 2017 until Monday 15th January, 2018.

I would like to wish you all a very happy and safe Christmas and look forward to working with you in 2018.

Regards,

Bernie
