Dear {contact.first_name} With a view to establishing the Blue Mountains Craft Beverage Cluster, we recently put a call out to producers in this sector. We had a great turnout at an evening meeting at the Carrington in Katoomba, leading to fast identification of opportunities for collaboration between breweries, wineries, distillers, producers of non-alcoholic beverages such as Kombucha and cocktail syrups, and coffee roasters. We are holding a second meeting in May where producers will be able to network and discuss their ideas around developing this cluster. Our focus on education this year has kicked off with preparation for a research project into pathways after high school for our young people. Our demographic analysis shows that whilst we have higher numbers than the state average in younger age groups, from age 18 – 38 we have lower than the state average. One of the reasons for this, we believe is the lack of higher education options in the Blue Mountains. Our research will help us develop strategies that are in line with the needs of youth and the business community. We look forward to publicising this project more in the coming months. Have a great Easter break, Regards,
