As the peak regional economic development agency for the Blue Mountains, Blue Mountains Economic Enterprise (BMEE) created a submission on behalf of local filmmakers and TV producers, in March 2017.
BMEE conducted a series of one-on-one interviews as part of this process and also invited professionals from within the Film and TV industry to contribute to the submission at a public meeting in the BMEE offices.
Almost 20 professionals from various corners of the industry braved rain and storms to contribute and share their ideas on how the Australian film and TV industry can grow, and how the Blue Mountains can benefit from a more sustainable and competitive industry.
The conversation was lively and passionate and BMEE had a great range of suggestions to collate into the submission which is now with the House of Representatives.
